Safety Systems for Chemical Loading in
Wastewater and Sewage treatment works
ISS Safety Ltd introduces the ‘Chemi-safe’ safety system that ensures dangerous chemicals used in the treatment of sewage and wastewater are prohibited from leaking or spilling into the water table during the loading process.
Trapped Key Interlocks force the operator through a predetermined operating sequence ensuring that dangerous shortcuts and human error cannot create environmental issues. Each application, of which there may be a number per site has uniquely coded keys ensuring each system is only operable via its own keys.
Systems previously employed use padlocks or padlocks with chains in conjunction with permit to work policies, often leaving the operating company open to accidents caused by human error.
The ‘Chemi-safe'system removes human error via the use of trapped key interlocks.
